The best thing I can think of THAT isn't working is to try and find and old install of chrome and see if you can turn off autoupdate? I dunno WHAT the fail is between flashchat and the the new flash, but internal plugins are a pain. Also if Mith's "shortcut" way isn't working, I'd just try the uninstall reinstall route...unless that hasn't worked either. If it keeps being a twit skype meh and I'll use my mighty beating stick on it? XD

I do believe that the real problem here is our chat provider. If they don't respond to and fix this problem in the near future, it would appear that we will be looking for a new chat provider when our term is up again in July. I'd advocate switching now, but we've already paid for the full year - as horrible as they are at even acknowledging payments, I don't hold out much hope that they'd be any better at issuing refunds!

My sincere apologies to our members... just know that r0o is actively poking them for some resolution while Mitharus is trying to help with workarounds until this problem IS resolved.

Just a note too...

I am a Mac user, and it was directly after this last flash update that Safari started having the same problem. So it is buggy in Safari as well. Chat loads, but then it comes to a blank screen.

Unfortunately, for work purposes, I have to keep my flash up to date =/

Oh no ... that would be way to easy if new versions didn't break things.

I'm guessing there was some ActionScript change that's slightly different in the new version, and they haven't updated their chat software to handle it, and how the user information is passed to the chat it's causing it to break.

Yup .. it's old. But it actually works. So here's a really boring description, if you want to add this in.

1) Open Windows Explorer, and go to where the download file fp_11.5.502.149_archive.zip is located.
2) Right click the fp_11.5.502.149_archive.zip file. Select "Extract all..." from the menu.
3) Double click the fp_11.5.502.149_archive directory, then Double click the 11_5_r502_149 directory.
4) To be safe, run the uninstall_flashplayer11_5r502_149_win.exe file.

Now ... Install:

For the Internet Explorer ActiveX plugin run: flashplayer11_5r502_149_winax.exe
For the Mozilla plugin run: flashplayer11_5r502_149_win.exe

I prefer the MSI files, but that's an Admin thing ... the exe's work just fine too.

Tadaa! Maybe... In theory anyway, the older version should be installed.

sadly my computer isn't letting me roll back to old flash. it's driving me nuts. too bad there isn't a way to just whack it like a boiler engine, and make it work like that. that would solve everyone's problems.

well, I dunno who did it, but someone or perhaps something auto updated my flash and Now I'm on 11,6,602,171 and I'm getting white screened too.

SO that being said i think it's the newest version of Flash that's the problem and not everyone's browsers.

For any of you that wish to find out if your on the newest, annoying version of flash, try going into chat then right clicking, so that you can "about flash" click it, an adobe page will load, and it'll tell you which flash your running.

I was running an older model 2 days ago and i have NO idea why i'm on this newer one. :l

My flash update happened automatically, so I experienced the same problem. When you uninstall the newest version and reinstall the old one, make sure to choose the middle button 'notify me for updates' so it will not update on its own again ^^

well, terns out once i had a hissy fit 2 different Brian's helped and chat should be all fixed now. It was a "known issue/bug" with the new flash update, that if we were notified went to the wrong email addy... either way, it's fixed, even has sounds though gotta remember how to turn those off, sad part is all that hissy and no one's there

Uh, r0opants? Still not working for me with the latest version. I'll give it a try later when I get back from Lansing, but I have the latest version of Flash right now and it's a no-go... pure white screen without any controls whatsoever.

Works on Safari and I just updated to the latest version of Flash. Don't know if that's any help.

I have 11.6.605.171 version (or so it says) and nope, it's not working for me...

It says I have 11,6,602,171 and its not working...I'm still getting the dreaded white screen after it tries to load. I'm also trying it on the firefox browser.

I also have 11.6.6o2.171 and it's not working for me. Just goes white screen. Sorry r0o! D:

The 11.6.602.171 vs of Flash plugin is probably not working because it appears to be a yet NEWER edition than the "new" 11.6 that was causing the reported problems in the first place.
I recommend an install of 11.5.502.149 (look up above a few I put some instructions if you dunno how) to keep your firefox "chat ready" until whatever the heck is going on between flash and chat decides to stablize itself.

I am running the same version as those listed above... 11,6,602,171... and still white screen for me with Firefox. Haven't tried Chrome or IE yet since Firefox is my default. Stoopid chat peoples!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I did as Lyra suggested and it worked. I can get into chat no problem.

Mith, I tried doing your shortcut and it wouldn't let me. It kept saying error.

What I DID do to cut corners was unzip the file as Lyra said, and uninstalled my current Flash. But, I didn't have to restart, I just clicked on the 11_5_r502_149 Application (mine was the second file from the top) and it downloaded it. I still haven't restarted and chat is running fine (:
