Us worthless : Twisting the love triangle fairytale. by weirdlykagome
First world: Midoriko
Disclaimer: Inuyasha and its characters belong to the Rumiko Takahashi. Only the plotline belongs to me.
Warning: This story is extremely dark. It can cause psychological strain with mention of strong possesive and obsessive characters. The tag is obviously tragedy, so hearbreak is due. Read only if you can handle these.
Special announcement: The real story starts from chapter 5, the one titled 'Respite: Kagome', so technically you guys can directly jump into chapter 5 after reading this first chapter. You guys won't be missing much of the storyline. Since the fist 4 chapters are pretty much the backstory of this plot.. But I recommend you guys to read the first four chapters as well for a full-on immersive experience.

The first thing she felt on being impacted by a mist of boiling miasma was the hacking of her lungs. She clawed at the compressed air which she could not expel out no matter how hard she tried. Coughing with struggle, she looked around herself, the bones of the old dog general were melting around. She struggled to grab the sword she had accidentally hacked earlier. With the jerk of her arms, she embedded its tip into the already melting ground, to her shock, a barrier encased her. A wisp of wind blew across her ear and she heard a whisper.
‘Do you want to change Sesshomaru’s future?’
Kagome frowned, Sesshomaru was the one responsible for her present condition. She didn’t want to get involved with him. As soon as she was going to open her mouth to refute, the whisper billowed in once again.
‘Listen to me before you decide, please.’
Kagome frowned once again and struggled to form a sentence. She froze when she felt a burning sensation in her throat.
‘Ahh....please, don’t try to speak. His poison will corrode your voice. I will speak. Please listen.’
Kagome nodded mutedly.
‘That child, he… has suffered a lot. You… you are the only one who could save him.’
Kagome frowned once again.
Why me?
The voice chuckled and then told her the most well-kept secret of centuries.
‘I, Toga, had struck my son with the worst misfortune while fulfilling a dear friend’s promise.’
The voice fell silent for a small moment. The hush of the environment made Kagome break down in cold sweat. Her eyes widened in horror. She had been hearing the murmurs of a very dead dog general. She gulped loudly and the voice bounced off the strained silence.
‘I just want you to accompany me for a story. You can decide after…after the story. ’
Kagome froze. A story, she had to hear a story, that’s it? She nodded hesitantly.
The next second, the wind howling in her ears increased to an alarming level. Her hands left the sword and flew to her ears. She tried to shout but it was overwhelmed by the rushing wind. In the next second, she felt a soul-wrenching pain in her body. Her entire body convulsed and she fell backwards, unconscious.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next when Kagome had opened her eyes, she felt a stabbing headache. She groaned in pain and tried to move her hands only to find out that they had been constrained by another pair of arms. Kagome jerked and felt the warmth of a body behind her. She blinked in confusion and tried to clear her fuzzy mind.
“Riko…Riko? Hey, what’s wrong?”
Kagome felt a warm breath near her ear and she froze. Eyes widened in confusion, she turned her head around. Her eyes clashed with those of pure gold. Her breathing quickened and she drew a shaky breath.
Sesshomaru?
Her eyes roamed all over the man’s face and she frowned. This was not him. The person had the crescent moon thing on his forehead but not those magenta slashes across his jaw.
“Hey, what’s wrong, it’s as if you have seen a ghost.”
The man’s breath felt fresh and minty as he laughed. Kagome’s frown had not soothed yet. Who was this guy?
“You know, I have been called to the border,” the man frowned, “don’t wanna go. But have to.” He smiled helplessly.
Kagome blinked as he announced his departure to her in a guilty tone. The man suddenly hugged her from behind and squeezed her tightly. Kagome blushed furiously and was about to shout when a rush of memories flooded her head and she felt dizzy.
“Hiroshi?” Kagome blinked, her head drumming in pain.
The man perked up and nuzzled her in affirmation. Kagome gritted her teeth in pain and tried to wiggle away from his arms.
“Hey, Riko, why are you wiggling so much? Wanna go at it or what?”
Kagome heard a deep chuckle and her ears reddened.
What is this situation?
The man behind her kissed her red ears and blew into them in mischief. Kagome stiffened as a delicious shiver ran through her body. She involuntarily moaned from the sensation. The chuckle deepened and she was nipped in her neck with pointy fangs.
Fangs? Demon?
Kagome’s warning signs blared and warm energy rolled off of her in waves. The man behind her winced and jumped, releasing her.
“Hey, watch it, woman. That hurt alright. I know you are angry but I have to go alright.” The man growled in a low whine.
Kagome stared at the man in disbelief. She frowned, was that her energy? She had never felt such a surge before. The energy was extremely familiar, she knew it, it was her energy. But the surge and its volume were very abnormal to her. She blinked at him owlishly and the good looking demon winked at her.
Kagome’s eyes twitched. She would like to know why was she not in the dog general’s tomb anymore. Kagome’s eyes widened as if struck by a realization and she looked all around her in panic.
The daylight streamed through the dense foliage and it lit the surrounding in a misty haze. Her gaze stopped at the figure standing behind her. The light struck against his silver mane and reflected in his eyes, making them shine like gold ornaments, her face reddened. The striking figure against the beautiful scenery made her breath heavy and her heart fast.
“Why staring as if seeing me for the first time?” the man smirked, his eyes softened in unmistakable love.
The man was so beautiful, she wanted to drown into those eyes forever. Kagome wanted to cry without tears.
What the hell is going on?
Before she could start questioning the stranger, the voice from before whispered like a devil.
‘This is the start of the story. Live through it and then decide what you should do.’
Kagome’s eyes widened in horror. She had wanted to listen to a story not live through them. She had been scammed. Was there a way for her to redeem her purchase? She gritted her teeth in anger, she realized she had been transmigrated.
Hey, you scammer come back. This lady wants to teach you some rules.
Kagome closed her eyes in anger and cursed the entire generation of the dog general in heart, she huffed in anger. No matter how much she shouted, the voice never came back. As she opened her eyes, it clashed with a pair of molten gold ones. Kagome’s mouth twitched, why was this demon so close to her face.
“Get lost! Why the hell are you sticking so close?” Kagome roared in frustration.
“Ohhh…. Scary!” the demon gave her a fanged smirk and raised his hand in a surrender pose as he backed a step away.
Kagome sighed. She had to calm down and get rid of this pervert first. She gathered her wits and tried to understand the situation she was in. She searched her memory and tried to speak calmly.
“Hiroshi, aren’t you leaving?”
Kagome winced at how bluntly she spoke that sentence. She tried to rectify her way of speaking when she was shocked by a force colliding into her. The big male hugged her as she fell backwards with him on top. He nuzzled and released a content sigh. Their eyes locked and the smile in his eyes would remain etched in her soul forever. Kagome stared at those beautiful eyes as they grew close. She jumped in shock when her lips were locked in a passionate kiss.
“Sorry, Midoriko. Gotta go! The border has been seized this time and Toga cannot handle it for long. He is still young, you know!” the man confessed seriously as their lips parted. He rubbed her fluttering lashes and kissed the corner of her eyes tenderly.
Memories of tender love and joy rushed into her mind and overwhelmed Kagome with its intensity. Her eyes misted over with tears and her heart clenched in a burst of joy. Her hands raised themselves of their own accord and held the face of her lover tenderly. She was shocked by the lung crushing force of her heartbeat. She had never felt anything like this before. The man’s tender eyes and his bitter smile stole her breath away. Her fingers brushed across his jaw tressing those missing magenta marks; her eyes glazed over in infatuation.
I love you
A voice echoed through her soul. The words made Kagome fall into a sense of euphoria. She leaned forward and kissed the man’s crescent moon. Her lips traced his eyes and his mouth, sighing into a kiss. A couple of lovers entangled themselves in a fierce battle of dominance. He deepened their kiss as if he was trying to suck her soul out. Kagome felt dizzy and her hands clenched his clothes as heart lulled her into a hazy euphoria.
Boom
The sound of a resounding weapon going off pulled Kagome out of the haze as she pushed the male off her. The male smirked and licked his lips in victory. He gave her a last wink before vanishing from the area.
Kagome blinked in a haze... What had happened just now? She knew her face was still flushed and she felt the rapid beat of her heart. Kagome’s eyes drooped as she placed her hand on her heart. She felt like she could never forget these feelings. She was sure then, nothing would remain the same. She slapped herself twice to straighten out her thoughts
Midoriko? Toga?
Kagome eyes sharpened in caution. She was jarred out from her fuzzy thoughts as she remembered the names he had uttered. She was in the body of Midoriko? She gasped in shock, Toga was Inuyasha’s dad. He was still young? How many years into the past had she been transmigrated to?
What the hell!!!!!
A/n: I came across this idea while reading QT fics. I am really excited about writing this down.
The characters harmed during the making of this chapter were none.
Kagome has something to say : I was very embarrased. Those scenes were R rated.... Please spare me next time.
