What a journey!!! Your nomination is truly deserved because you have crafted a wonderful story here. I am going to miss these characters dearly, as always of course, but especially now. However, I'm so happy to know and have gotten to see that they reached their happy ending. I love how you stayed true to the central question of "what it means to be a family", and I can't convey how attached and invested I am in this family you've shared with us. Not just our titular three, but the whole family. You've made each one loveable in their own way, and I love getting to see them happy and together.
I also think that the whole "Sensei" thing is just the cutest thing. It's been addressed in your author's notes a couple times, but I just wanted to give my appreciative two cents. It's unique and I don't see it often, but I think it was a great character choice for Sesshoumaru, especially this one, and it really helped to distinguish and clarify their dynamic in a very memorable way (especially in these last chapters >:3).
Thank you for all your hard work, time, and effort that you've poured into sharing this story with us. It has truly been a delight, now and every past time I've read it, and will continue to be into the far future, I am sure. I'll be thinking of it probably for the next week lol, it made that much of an impression. I hope you don't mind the spam of notifications, it's rather late where I am and I apologize for any incoherent thoughts or typos. Once again, thank you for a wonderful experience, it made me laugh and cry and smile and love and yearn and *feel*!
I'll be seeing you around! It's a promise! Until next time,
Knight
Wow. I haven't read these more recent chapters and what a ride. The whole section with Honoka and Mama Tsuki was so well done, I'm so happy that it was included. I think it was definitely called for, given the context of the story, and I'm glad that the family can get that kind of closure.
I FORGOT ABOUT THE GRAVES, NOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! This is terrible, sick and twisted. The moment I heard collecting flowers it all came back and it fricking HURT >:( Sick. And. TWISTED. Cruel and unusual punishment. Haine would have loved Rin, and Rin would have loved him infinitely more. Falling to absolute PIECES.
HIGHLIGHT CHAPTER.... I remember this one well but wowee does it still hit. The progression of the relationship. The Yasha family. The portraits. The estate. The reflection on the past and Sesshoumaru saying goodbye to his dad. The END!?!?!? Breathtaking.
the yEARNING !!!! YESSSSS !!!!! Ugh, LOVE. Love love love it, so frickin good. And so relatable, I totally understand where she's coming from, But Sessh is just happy to have her there :'3 *sob*. They are both so tender with Haine, it makes my heart melt.
It seems my previous review submitted several times over....I deeply apologize for that >< maybe it'll help the algorithm. But man. Vicious cycle indeed. One of my favorite things about SessKag is the intrinsic irony and thematic ties that it has to his father, brother, and larger themes of acceptance and perspective, and this story leans into that HARD and it's *delicious* ^^ I love it when authors continue to build on the character arcs and themes that are introduced in the original series in their fan fiction, because even if it's canon divergent or AU, it still has the same heart. So satisfying, even if it's so so sad. But as Kagome said, *it'll be okay*. It HAS to be, on my hands and knees.
What the frick.
I forgot how much I love this story because what
What if I threw up. What IF I THREW UP, THIS IS SO SICK AND TWISTED AHHHHHHHHHHHH THE POOR BOY
THE POOR MAN
SCREAMING I LOVE HER SO MUCH
It's really such a joy to come back to this story every once and a while, I forget how *good* it is. The characters, Sesshouamaru's angst over the struggles of fatherhood, Kagome being the inspiration and icon that she is. Haine being the cutest little thing I've ever beheld in fiction. My sweet boy. We get thrown right into the story with Kagome and I love how it unfolds piece by piece while still keeping the audience engaged and invested in the who, what, and why. I know what happens but I'm still so locked in because it's a GOOD. STORY !!!! Man. This is why I can't bear to leave this site, there's just such joy in coming home lol. Can't wait to keep reading hehe!

K-Beda (Chapter 19) - Fri 24 May 2024
As a single mother who's kinda afraid to date because of its complexities with a child, I really appreciate how you're writing this story. Yes, Haine's feelings are most important and he needs people who will stay with him and show consistent love. No, things don't just flip back to normal because you've/ someone has apologized. I'm happy to see how emotionally mature each of these characters are (Inuyasha's matchmaking attempts aside) and how real these situations feel.
I'm excited to see how the rest of this story progresses and am thankful for this bit of romantic dopamine as I try to be more comfortable with the idea of dating as a parent.
Great story!

Thank you!!! I absolutely loved this story and loved the ending! I've read one too many FFs where endings have been disappointing or just feel monotarinai (unfulfilling/not quite finished/not enough) but this was a wonderful story from start to end. While I really loved your Sess and Kag, their personalities, their relationships, my fave character was Haine. He was so darn adorable!!! The only part I wasn't keen on was when Kagome suddenly cut herself out of Sess and Haine's lives. It was a bit too much and way too angsty for me. I wanted to bop Kagome on the head with that squeaky rubber toy hammer they use in Japanese variety shows XD. But you tied it up beautifully in the end. What a lovely way to finish - with Haine putting up that family pic on his school board. I read most of your long stories and this was my absolute favorite. Thanks so much for sharing...thanks for seeing this through till the end and completing it! :)

Loved your story it was beutiful, looking forward to read more of your stories! greetings from Mexico!
OMG! I absolutely adore Haine, he is such a lovely boy. Kagome is awesome as a teacher, it's the perfect job for her. This was a very sweet story. Sesshomaru is a great father and I'm glad for that.
Linda (Chapter 28) - Sun 04 Feb 2024
It's silly to be emotional about a story, but Bravo. Thank you for completing what you started. You really put yourself into this story. It was wonderful...invite us back when there's an addition to the family.

Sigh she actual hates inuyokai. Jeez!
To the author's note, I honestly think she's scared and doesn't understand why she doesn't love her child the way a mother should. It feels like she had postpartum or something and never dealt with it. That or she felt forced into everything plus everything was decided for her so she might not understand how to have emotional attachments?
